The financial device “LIFE+”
In recent years, the European Union, through its LIFE+ financial instrument, has been supporting projects which aim to conserve any biodiversity that exists throughout its territory, including overseas territories like La Réunion.
The European Commission instrument co-finances 50% of the LIFE+ Forêt Sèche project, while the other half is financed by the five local partners : La Réunion National Park, The State (DEAL), the Conservation du littoral, the Région Réunion and the Département de La Réunion.
D’autres acteurs œuvrent à nos côtés pour la préservation de la biodiversité dans les Départements d’Outre-mer. Le projet « LIFE+ Savanes Guyane » pour la préservation de la savane en Guyane, et l’association Nature Océan Indien pour les espèces animales à La Réunion, notamment le Phelsuma borbonica, qui nous passionne particulièrement.
