Main Actions

Harvest seeds and set up arboretums
Work on native species which present deficiency in fruiting and / or germination
Develop a permanent production network of native species
Re-establish a 45 to 50 Hectares Ecological Continuum between previously restored parcels
Study the ecological interest of the Aldabra Tortoise role in rejuvenating the dry forest
Re-introduce a population of the Gecko vert de Bourbon where it has recently disappeared
Educate on and teach how to preserve La Réunion dry forest
Involve the inhabitants of the island at each step of the project
Making out of the conservation process and a local development force

Expected Results

45 to 50 Hectares of saved forest (reconnecting the core areas and reviving interactions between fauna and flora)
80 000 native trees planted
The conservation status of the species involved in the project upgraded in o significant way
Reduction of intervention cost 20% compare to the LIFE+ COREXERUN project
3000 volunteers mobilized
